Kasbah of Glaoui
Located on the heights of Tinghir just in front of the Saghro Hotel, the Kasbah of the ancient Pasha of Marrakech and its region during the 19th and 20th centuries, is completely abandoned.
At the time of the protectorate, Glaoui allied with the French against the king of Morocco, which initially earned him a great wealth.
During Morocco’s independence, Glaoui lost most of its property and emigrated with the whole family to France. As a result, its old residences were no longer maintained, which explains their current condition. The kasbah of the Glaoui of Tinghir is unfortunately forbidden to the public because of its state of ruin.
